Demonstrations in eastern Sudan and police injures 11 students

Peaceful demonstration turned into violent confrontations with Sudanese police Monday morning in Halfa Aljadeeda and 11 students were seriously wounded after police used excessive force to contain demonstrations held by students from University of Kassala.
Sources of Altaghyeer in the area reported that education and agriculture students held a peaceful march to the premises of the national fund for students’ support to deliver a note of protest over admitting new individuals to the already overcrowded dormitories besides the deterioration of services. A confrontation with police ensued and resulted in many injuries as 11 students and 6 policemen had to be treated in hospital while the fund’s premises was burned down.
