Unnamed Entities Accused by the Sudanese Army

Unnamed entities accused by the Sudanese Armed Forces of working to stifle the country’s transition process and create strife between the people and their armed forces were the subject of an army statement released after the events of Tuesday’s violence.

In a statement issued by the military’s media office in the wake of the events that took place at the General Command area on Tuesday evening, the army said that the perimeter of the Command was closed to protect the citizens.

“…so that the marches are not exploited by parties that have an agenda aimed at aborting the transition process and creating discord between the people and their armed forces”, the statement declared.

The unnamed entities accused by the Sudanese army were referred to after at least two people were killed by live ammunition at the General Command vicinity on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Thousands of citizens broke through the security cordon in response to a request filed by the Martyrs’ Families, asking to commemorate the second anniversary of the General Command massacre.

The army announced it will be investigating the latest incident and will disclose its results to the public, stressing the need for justice to take its course “according to the law’s requirements”.

It also stressed its commitment in protecting the transitional period and guarding the gains of the revolution.

In addition to confronting any attempt that hinders the success of the transitional period and democratic transformation.

In the same context, the army indicated no instructions were issued to forces protecting the perimeters to use live ammunition against citizens.
