COVID-19 cases in decline in Khartoum
Competent authorities have confirmed that the number of COVID-19 cases are in decline in the Sudanese capital Khartoum, based on the decline in daily cases reported.

The Ministry of Health in Khartoum announced that the number of daily reported COVID-19 cases in Khartoum is in decline, indicating that the state recorded 3 cases out of a total of 17 cases across Sudan.
On Sunday, the ministry’s Emergency and Epidemiology committee held a meeting, in which it was declared that the number of COVID-10 cases –since the onset of the pandemic— totaled “36,327” cases in all Sudanese state.
The state of Khartoum alone recorded the highest injuries and the number of cases, having recorded “26,638” cases until Sunday.
In a meeting, the committee called for the need to abide by all health measures, including wearing masks, washing hands with soap and water, using sterilizers, social distancing, and raising the level of awareness in citizens.
The meeting noted the need to obligate all government and private laboratories to a time specified by the committee during which the daily reports are to be submitted so that the administration can play its full role.
The committee also agreed on issuing continuous reminders to all laboratories to upload examinee data completely so that the ministry can follow up on all cases.
Vaccination Efforts
The head of the ministry’s immunization department, Jamal Muhammad Othman, said that the department needs an additional “20” tabs to speed up the admission process, with the number of those admitted reaching 206,962.
He added that the vaccination schedules did not work on Sunday due to the inventorying of all the doses within the localities, providing work should resume on Monday.
Jamal confirmed that the number of vaccinated health personnel reached “77,982”, while over-45 age groups accounted for 225,178.
The director of the ministry’s immunization department also declared that the vaccination rate for the second dose had reached 80%.
Jamal indicated that the ministry has initiated opening centers for vaccinating travelers in each locality in order to reduce overcrowding.
