Federation looks into expanding Sudanese-Japanese cooperation
Hashim Salah Matar, the head of the Sudanese Businessmen and Employers Federation, stressed on the importance of strengthening and enforcing Sudanese-Japanese relations in terms of business activities.

In the presence of the Sudanese Businessmen and Employers Federation’s Foreign Relations secretary Abdel Halim Eissa Te’man, Matar met with Hatori Takashi, the Japanese ambassador to Sudan in Khartoum.
The head of the federation said that Japan, a global economic power, is considered an important country for Sudan, stressing that Japanese technology has retained the confidence of the Sudanese public.
Matar expressed his aspirations that the coming period will witness more economic cooperation in light of Sudan’s openness to the international community.
He pointed to the importance of organizing a virtual seminar with the Japanese side to learn about economic reforms in Sudan, and to take note of the advantages and incentives of the new investment law, as well as the law of partnership between the private and public sectors.
Matar also pointed towards Sudan removing obstacles hindering monetary transfer and banking transactions with various countries of the world; matter which would contribute to attracting Japanese investments to Sudan.

For his part, Ambassador Takashi explained that their work in Sudan focuses on improving the health sector, including responding to the challenges of Covid-19, and developing the agricultural sector through improving the productivity of small farmers.
Ambassador Takashi also addressed Japanese initiatives in building youth capacity, Vocational training, through JICA programs, in addition to the provision of government scholarships.
The ambassador pointed to the importance of focusing during this stage on attracting Japanese companies that have a presence and business in the African continent, and attracting them to invest in Sudan.
He considered that areas pertaining to infrastructure Sudan are among very promising major investment areas, and expressed his expectations that a number of Japanese companies will soon initiate business and investments in Sudan in cooperation with local companies.
