The police explained that the joint forces, formed earlier this year by the Security and Defense Council, were attacked by an armed group before they managed to control and arrest them.
The police stated that while the joint force was combing the area, they were shot at by intruders, and a security source suggested that were affiliated with the Tamazuj movement.
The source added that the clashes took place after the armed movement’s forces refused to vacate a housing complex that they had self-designated as their headquarters after signing the Juba Peace Agreement, indicating that the regular forces had an order to evacuate the housing complex.
Worth noting that the meeting of the Security and Defense Council No. (13/2021 AD) ordered the formation of a joint force made up of the state’s various regular agencies to help resolve security breaches and negative phenomena in the state of Khartoum.
The joint forces began practicing their work early last week by combing the areas of crime, arresting the intruders and writing legal procedures in confronting them.
