Security and Defense Council in Sudan discusses Afghan groups, Soba
The Security and Defense Council in Sudan agreed in principle to host Afghan groups in the country, while praising the performance of the executing forces to evacuate a residential complex south of Khartoum from groups affiliated with the armed movements that signed the Juba Peace Agreement.

The Security and Defense Council held an emergency session Thursday, in which it discussed several issues.
According to press statements by the Minister of Defense, Yassin Ibrahim, the meeting discussed the problems that hinder production in the oil and mining areas.
Among issues discussed between the defense council in Sudan was the issue of Afghan citizens fleeing their country which is currently experiencing turmoil after the Taliban group managed to seize rule in the country.
The council agreed in principle to host a limited group of Afghans fleeing the Taliban in the country in response to humanitarian appeals.
The Security and Defense Council also discussed societal rights and the need to develop an urgent development strategy to address the issues of the affected areas.
The Minister of Defense stated that the Council heard a description and a professional briefing from the National Border Commission, and was reassured on the approved documents and maps that support Sudan’s political transition, and that confirm the soundness of the legal position on the conflicts.
The minister indicated that the Council listened to a briefing on the harmful activities on the northwestern borders with the State of Libya in the Triangle region, which is represented in drug and human trafficking, smuggling of goods, cars and weapons, as well as illegal immigration.
He said that the council listened to a security briefing on the events at Soba and the frictions that took place between the security services and members of some armed struggle movements.
He indicated that the council praised the professional performance and wisdom of the forces executing the evacuation of the Rahaf complex.
The Minister of Defense said that the Council directed the regular forces and security services to continue the campaigns and to control all evasions, movements and destructive activities.
