Palm tree fires devour 2,000 palm trees in northern state

The palm tree fires phenomenon has reappeared in the northern state, this time in three different regions within the state.

The Civil Defense authorities announced the containment of a series of simultaneous fires, which broke out within one day, and devouring over two thousand palm trees in the northern state, Sudan.

In recent years, the northern state has witnessed the outbreak of several huge fires that destroyed hundreds of hectares of vegetation cover, most of which consisted of seedling and palm tree.

The Civil Defense contained a huge fire that destroyed 1.8 thousand palm trees on Bana Island in Dongola locality.

Meanwhile, the Civil Defense controlled a fire in the Kodi area of ​​al-Barqaiq locality and destroyed 106 palm trees, and put out a third fire that caused the elimination of 42 palm trees in the al-Saleem area, the second section.

The three fires broke out in one day, and no official explanation has yet been issued about the cause of these fires or.

It is not known whether the palm fires in the northern state were caused by negligence and natural conditions, or whether they were deliberate by parties who set out to harm farmers.

The accidents caused great material losses to farmers, who depend mainly on the palm trees’ date crop for their livelihood.
