The Chinese ambassador in Addis Ababa stressed that his country will continue to support the Ethiopian people in working for peace, stability, development and prosperity, according to the Ethiopian News Agency.

The Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Zhao Zhiyuan, said his country will firmly stand by the Ethiopian people and sticks to its opposition of any outisde interference in Ethiopia’s internal affairs under the guise of human rights or democracy.
At a press conference in Addis Ababa on Saturday, the Chinese ambassador stressed that his country will continue to support the Ethiopian people in working for peace, stability, development, and prosperity, according to the Ethiopia’s national news agency.
He noted that Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s visit is another vivid example of the high-level bilateral relations between the two countries, which has raised the friendship to a new level.
“We also have the same approach in international relations, that is, to pursue an independent foreign policy, adhere to the principle of self-reliance and steadfastness, and oppose external interference,” the ambassador said.
“No matter how the situation develops, China will firmly stand by the Ethiopian people,” he added.
Zhiyuan explained that China’s active participation in the recent “No More” campaign also provides strong support to Ethiopia.
The ambassador also emphasized that China believes that all mankind shares the same future, and emphasized that democracy is not a patent owned by a particular country.
