Hamdok, who earlier this week expressed his fears of the country descending into an abyss, has informed two sources close to him of his intent to resign, as per Reuters.
The Prime Minister turned into an unfavorable figure among the protesters in Sudan after signing an agreement with 25th October coup enforcer Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan
Sources also reported from Reuters that Hamdok intends to resign despite his circle’s plea for him to stay in office.
The Sudanese public has turned on Dr. Abdallah Hamdok following his signing of the agreement between him and Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan that allowed him back into his office.
Hamdok had been previously removed from his position and detained, along with several other members of his government, following the coup that took place on October 25th.
On Sunday, large numbers of protesters in Sudan managed to storm the Republican Palace in Khartoum in protest of the coup d’etat and the aforementioned agreement.
