A deadline of 7 days for the armed movements to leave the cities

The governor of North Darfur state attributed the recent security breaches in the city of El Fasher to the impersonation of law enforcement officers and soldiers of some armed movements.

The governor of North Darfur state, western Sudan, revealed that the forces affiliated with the armed movements that signed the Juba Peace Agreement have given 7 days to leave the cities in which they are present.

The governor of North Darfur, Nimr Mohamed Abdel Rahman, stated that the third meeting of the Supreme Council for Security Arrangements, which was held recently in the state capital of El Fasher, gave the leaders of the movements 7 days to withdraw their troops from the cities to the areas of focus, as stipulated in the Juba Agreement.

In an interview with the Sudanese newspaper (Al-Jarida) published today, Thursday, “Abdul Rahman” confirmed directives issued from within the meeting to the leaders of the movements to tightly control their elements and return them to the foundations.

He attributed the recent security breaches in the city of El Fasher to the impersonation of unruly and outlaws as officers and soldiers of some armed movements.

By wearing its clothes and committing crimes against civilians, which prompted him to demand her expulsion from the city, and to develop a plan to resolve the intruders.

The Governor of North Darfur indicated that the federal government had allocated an initial budget for the implementation of the provision of security arrangements, subject to increase.

In addition to its commitment to provide logistical supplies and medicine to prevent the recurrence of the outbursts that were occurring as a result of lack of supply.

Earlier this week, an officer in the Rapid Support Militia, and two leaders of the Sudanese Alliance Movement, were killed, following clashes between the two parties at a former UNAMID headquarters.

Responsibility for protecting the headquarters of the United Nations Mission and the African Union for Darfur devolved to joint forces, following repeated incidents of looting of property belonging to the local government.

And social media confirmed that among the dead was First Lieutenant Muhammad Habib, who belonged to the Rapid Support Militia.

Among the movement’s ranks, the two leaders Fadil Al-Malik and Muhammad Abdullah, known as (Abu Jumba) fell.

Citizens of El Fasher said that the situation is tense between the security forces, and they expressed their fear of a widening of the conflict.

The RSF Militia is led by the second man in Sudan’s coup, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti).
