Huge fire engulfs tower in central Khartoum
Civil Defense authorities controlled a huge fire that broke out yesterday in one of the multi-storey buildings in central Khartoum

The Sudanese Police’s information office said the Civil Defence have swiftly responded to the incident sending 5 fire engines, two water supplement tankers and teams specialized in dealing with huge fire.
The teams have managed to control the fire which erupted in a building in the central market of Alsoog Alarabi.
Khartoum has recently witnessed a number fire incidents in which shops, factories and residential buildings were destroyed, matter sending alarming signals about effectiveness of occupational safety measures and how fire incidents are dealt with in public and private buildings.
These incidents include one at the Army Command facility in May 2022, Khartoum North market last October, the Ministry of Finance in February 2022, a building hosting the visiting Kober football team of Portsudan in March 2022, headquarters of the committee assigned to remove empowerment of the deposed regime in June 2021 and car spare parts shops in Khartoum North industrial area in March 2021.
