Signatories to the Political Framework Agreement set Saturday April 6 as a deadline for signing the Final Political Agreement that paves the way for transferring power to the civilians.
The decision was announced following a meeting of civilian forces engaged in the Political Process and leaders of the coup, Abdul Fatah Al Burman and Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo “Hemedti”, at the Presidential Palace.
Spokesman for the Political Process, Khalid Omer Yousif, said the parties gave commanders of the army and Rapid Support Forces five days to bypass differences over security sector reform.
Signing of the Final Political Agreement has been postponed from April 1st to allow the military resolve their differences over regular forces reform, integration and development.
