Burhan freezes Rapid Support’s bank accounts, dismisses senior officers

Comander of the Sudanese Armed Forces Abdul Fatah Al Burhan issued  decisions freezing bank accounts of the Rapid Support Forces and fired a number of Army officers seconded to the RSF.

A month has now passed since eruption of the clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The fighting erupted over differences between the two parties on military and security reform including integration of the RSF into the SAF.

Al Burhan’s decisions, which were posted by SAF Facebook official account, orders freezing of all RSF as well as their companies accounts in all commercial and public banks at home and abroad.

The decisions forbade paying any dues or budgets allocated for the RSF except for salaries.

The decisions also fired four SAF senior officers seconded to the RSF including head of the RSF delegation to Jedah negotiations and director of the Operations Administration, the 3rd leading officer in the chain of command within the RSF.

The RSF made no comments on Burhan’s decisions.
