Alatta added that the army believes its victory is inevitable as it continues in making steady progress in the war against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). He said the morale of its troops is very high because Sudanese people stand behind it.
On the army ambush in Bahri town on Friday, he admitted the army sustained loss but described it as a minor one. But the army has inflicted heavy casualties on the RSF and their troops are fleeing the battle fields towards the western regions of the country.
Alatta said the RSF is making use of media outlets to spread misinformation and false news but they failed to deceive Sudanese people with these ploys.
Meanwhile, the deputy commander of the Sudanese Army, Shamsel Deen Kkabashi, said that they are ready to consider any serious initiative seig to end the war, commending the US-Saudi initiative for restoration of peace in Sudan.
Kabashi told the Qatari Aljazeera satellite channel on Saturday that the army ‘open’ to any serious initiative to end the war, provided it preserves Sudan’s national sovereignty.
He said the army will support any negotiations aimed at forming a transtional civilian government that will prepare for election in the country.
