Hemedti affirmed readiness to work with SAF to build a national army that serves the interests of the Sudanese people.

He stressed in a social media post, Saturday, that “we don’t seek to do away with, dismantle or replace SAF; but we will closely work with the all patriotic people to build a unfied national army, with no political leaning, to serve the people interests and protect the homeland”.

Hemedti was speaking in a recorded statement last week following reports speculating he was either seriously injured or killed.

“It is time to open a new page in the history of our country in which we draw the future of our nation based on comprehensive national vision that realises freedom and justice for everybody within a genuinely democratic system of government” he said.

He said he was confident Sudan will be rebuilt, making best use of its social and cultural diversity as well as its vast human and material resources.

“We have the ability to put our dear home land on the right track” he added.
