Sudan’s Foreign Ministry: RSF’s intransigence impedes Jeddah peace talks
Sudan’s Foreign Ministry has accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of frustrating the Jeddah Peace Talks aimed at ending the war between the Sudanese army and the RSF.

The Ministry has blamed in statement, published by the Sudan News Agency on Saturday, the ‘militia’ forces for the current stagnation in the Saudi-USA facilitated talks.
The Ministry said it appreciated the efforts exerted by Saudi Arabia and United States sponsors of the Jeddah talks and hailed their outcome, including Jeddah declaration on civilian protection, short term ceasefire and humanitarian arrangements.
“But the rebel militia have, as usual, failed to commitment they made in the signed agreements and they continued their systematic violations which include forceful occupation of private homes and the public facilities, looting, destruction of basic infrastructures such as the highway roads, airports and stirring panic and chaos in the country” the statement said.
The Ministry considered what it called ‘intransigence’ of the RSF and their failure to committment, the main factor behind the faltering of the Jeddah talks.
It further affirmed readiness of the delegation to go back to Jeddah, whenever the Saudi-American mediators succeeded in resolving the obstacles that impeded the talks, as it is keen to reach a just agreement that would stop hostilities and pave the way for discussing post war issues.
