Sudanese authorities seize weapons heading for Khartoum

Head of SAF Intelligence Department in Gadarif, Musa Abdul Rahman, said the smugglers were engaged in moving quantities of weapons to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Khartoum.

The Intelligence Department of the Sudanese Armed Forces’ Second Division in Gadarif State in Eastern Sudan unveiled seizure of 69 sniper guns, three cargo cars and more than 550 benzene gallons, Sudan News Agency reported.

The weapons were apprehended at Butana Plain region in eastern Sudan.

Commander of SAF Eastern Military Area, Maj Gen. Ahmed Al Amas, affirmed that efforts will not cease combating all forms of smuggling and sabotage through Gadarif State, and Butana vast areas in particular where such crimes thrive.
