Agar details roadmap for ending the war in Sudan

The Deputy Chair of the coup Sovereign Council in Sudan, Malik Agar, revealed a proposed roadmap for ending the war in Sudan.

Khartoum: Altaghyeer

Agar said the roadmap’s first step is to separate between the two forces, then urgently deliver humanitarian assistance and ensuring civilian safety. The political process follows these steps and focuses on re-establishment of the state rather than power sharing, he said.

Agar made the statements during a meeting with leaders of the “Women against war” initiative on Saturday.

He affirmed that he concurs with the initiative which represents the wishes and resolve of most of the Sudanese women to stop the war.

He voiced his full support for the initiative and readiness to work with them for ending the war particularly that women are the ones affected most by the war.

Agar said efforts are deployed to incorporate the various initiatives underlying that multiple initiatives harm the peace efforts and prolong the war.
