Sudan: renewed clashes left dozens civilians killed and injured in centeral western city 

The Sudanese city Al Obied, capital of North Kordofan State, in centeral west, on Wednesday was the scene of renewed clashes, described as the fiercest between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), that left as many dead and injured.

At least 12 people were killed and 15 injured as a result of continued shelling between the SAF and RSF, sources told Altaghyeer.

The clashes between the two warring parties, in which the army used heavy artillery and the RSF Katyusha missiles, continued up to nine o’clock in the night.

The sources said the Kuwaiti Hospital for Children Emergencies, has shut because of the shelling that left a woman dead and other persons injured on the vicinity of the hospital.

The clashes, according to eyewitnesses, were the fiercest since outbreak of the war, April 15th.

Before Wednesday clashes, fighting  between the SAF and RSF had ceaced for more than a week and life was returning to normal in Al Obied town.
