Ardoul expulsion ended a series of rumours that continued to surround the most controversial government official during his three years in office.
His activities have been subject for public opinion and social media debates.
Ardoul’s expulsion followed circulation of voice recording in which he used obscene language while talking about chairman of the coup Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan. He also spoke proudly about his affairs with women and his being willing to work with the Rapid Support Forces, the paramilitary currently at war with the army, if his preconditions are met.
Since his appointment as DG for the major government’s earnings company, Ardoul has been opposed to the December 2018 Revolution forces. He helped, among other things, in pave the way for al-Burhan coup of October 2021 and became supporter of the military.
Ardoul’s name was linked to a series of corruption cases though he was not officially indicted. One of these issues is gold smuggling and involvement of the military in the Russian company ‘Merowe Gold’.
