Administration of the Sudan Wildlife Park, in the Khartoum southern suburb of al-Bagair, has managed to evacuate 46 wild animals in collaboration with the Wildlife Police and the Austrian Four Paws Organization.
The rescue operation has faced many challenges as the park area is situated in a vicinity of fighting between the Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces.
The rescued animals were evacuated to Ombarona Forest in Wad Madani, capital of the Centeral Sudan’s Gazira State.
Including falcons, deers, hyenas, lions … etc, the animals will be transported to the Dinder National Open Park in eastern Sudan.
The Sudan Wildlife Park was established following a famous incident involving starvation of lions in a privately administered zoo few years ago.
