Sudan’s Taqaddum and South Sudan President discuss ending the war
Member of the Sudanese Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces (Taqaddum), Babikir Faisal, revealed that they asked South Sudan President to urge warring parties in Sudan to agree to a ceasefire.

Member of the Sudanese Coordination of Civil Democratic Forces (Taqaddum), Babikir Faisal, has described as “fruitful” the recent meeting they held with South Sudan President Salva Kiir in Juba.
Faisal said in press statements that the meeting tackled efforts for ending the war in Sudan, making use of the special relations between the two countries besides the fact that continuation of the war will affect the neighbouring countries particularly South Sudan.
Salva Kiir affirmed that his country has no interest in continuation of the war in Sudan and that it is seeking ways to end the conflict, Faisal added.
He explained that Taqaddum delegation has requested that President of South Sudan intensify efforts with the warring parties in Sudan and urge them to reach a ceasefire agreement.
The meeting has also discussed situation of the Sudanese refugees in a number of camps in South Sudan besides allowing Sudanese students impacted by the war to study in the South Sudan’s universities, Faisal said.
He explained that President Kiir has briefed Taqaddum delegation about an initiative for unifying the Sudanese civil forces and they agreed to sit with all Sudanese parties except for the deposed National Congress and the Islamic Movement.
