Al-Burhan submits to African High Panel views for solving Sudan crisis
Al-Burhan expressed confidence in the African Union and readiness to welcome its proposed solutions for the Sudan crisis “if the Union treat Sudan as a member state enjoys full rights.”

Head of the Sudan’s coup Sovereign Council cum army chief, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan said the Sudan was sticking to its condition that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) must vacate civilians houses it had occupied as a basis for resolving the current crisis in Sudan.
Al-Burhan met on Sunday with a delegation representing the African Union’s High Level Panel on Sudan headed by Mohamed Ibn Chambas.
He told the delegation that the African Union’s efforts to solve the crisis in Sudan are welcomed if specific conditions are met.
He expressed confidence in the African Union and readiness to welcome its proposed solutions for the crisis “if the Union treat Sudan as a member state enjoys full rights.”
Chambas stressed need to end the war and realize stability for the Sudan and its people which in turn means stability for the entire African continent given the country’s important geographical and strategic position.
He pointed out that the African High Level Panel, which was formed last January, is keen to reach a solution for the Sudan crisis and met in this concern with all Sudanese political forces.
The other two members of the Panel are Speciosa Wandira-Kazibwe, former vice president of Uganda and Francisco Madeira, former head of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia.
