Violent clashes renewed on Tuesday around the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) General Command in centeral Khartoum where strong explosions and exchange of violent artillery shelling heard.

The war between the SAF and Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which entered its second year on Monday, has pushed the Sudan to the brink of famine, destroyed the country’s infrastructure and displaced nearly 9 millions.

The SAF’s drones attacked today RSF’s targets south and east of Khartoum.

Meanwhile, a state of cautious calm prevailed in al-Fasher, capital of North Darfur, after days of armed confrontations that left 9 dead and more than 60 injured besides a wide-range displacement.

Tranquility was also restored in Mileet after the RSF swept into this strategic city on Sunday.

A year into the war has put Sudan on a tragically fast track to becoming one of the world’s biggest humanitarian crises in decades, according to IOM Director General Amy Pope.
