Khartoum: Altaghyeer
Commander of the Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF)
Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo “Hemedti” said he told the United Nations Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General for Sudan, Ramtane Lamarma, that he is ready to fully cooperate with the UN and humanitarian organizations to facilitate relief transportation to needy people in all parts of Sudan.
He said on X on Sunday that he discussed with Lamarma, in a phone call, the situations in North Darfur state and the barrel bombs used by the Sudanese Armed Forces to kill innocent people.
He said he reaffirmed to the UN envoy that the RSF will continue in using force to exercise its legitimate right to self-defence against the SAF aggression.
Since eruption of war in April 2023 between the SAF and RSF, political forces and human rights organizations accuse the latter of committing gross violations including conflict-related sexual violence and the SAF of targeting civilians with airstrikes.
