The former governor of al-Gezira State, al-Tahir Ibrahim al-Khair, said what happened in al-Tikaina town represented a war crime calling the international community to hold the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) accountable for killing civilians.
The RSF killed 18 of al-Tikaina residents, 11 on Monday when it didn’t find fuel in the town, and seven in the following day using light and heavy weaponry, Sudan Tribune reported.
The RSF captured Wad Madani, capital of Al-Gezira State, in December and appointed its field commander Abu Aagla Kaikal as governor. Since then, the paramilitary has involved in attacking tens of villages in the State committing heinous crimes of killing, raping, torturing and looting.
The voluntary youth Resistance Committees accused the RSF of deliberately using communications and internet outages to cover up its crimes in al-Gezira State.
