Renewed Confrontations between Sudan army and RSF in Khartoum
In a new escalation in confrontations between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and Rapid Support Forces (RSF), the former launched on Tuesday morning heavy artillery attacks on the RSF positions in south and east Khartoum.

Loud explositions were heard and columns of smokes were seen rising in the south Khartoum’s areas of al-Remaila, Lamab, Arkweet, al-Azhuri and al-Hizam on Tuesday morning following heavy artillery attacks launched on the RSF positions by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF).
At the same time, the RSF shelled the SAF positions in Omdurman according to eyewitnesses.
The attacks represent a renewal of confrontations between the two belligerents in the Sudanese capital, stirring worry and fear among local residents.
Omdurman’s al-Thawrat neighbourhoods have been subjected to heavy artillery shelling by the RSF resulting in destruction of properties and wounding of unspecified number of civilians.
