Burhan and UN Deputy Secretary discuss developments of the situation in Sudan
Meeting between Burhan and the visiting UN Deputy Secretary has focused on developments of humanitarian situation in Sudan.

Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Army General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan briefed the United Nations Deputy Secretary, Amina Mohamed, on the latest developments in Sudan situation with focus on the government efforts to set up safe passages for humanitarian assistance.
Mohamed, who concluded a one – day visit to Port Sudan on Thursday, said that her visit to Sudan aims at assessing the humanitarian situation on the ground appreciating decision of the Sudanese government to open Adré crossing to allow humanitarian assistance reaching Darfur Region from Chad.
She underlined that the humanitarian crisis in Sudan requires collaboration of all actors active in the humanitarian field to rescue the Sudanese stranded in the war zones particularly women and children.
She stressed the UN keenness to find sustainable solution for the Sudan crisis and end the war through implementation of Jeddah talks resolutions.
Al-Burhan meeting with Mohamed was attended by the UN Secretary-General’s personal envoy for Sudan, Ramadan Lamamra, and Sudan’s Acting Foreign Minister Hussein Awad.
Awad underscored Sudan’s cooperation with the UN urging the world organisation to impose pressure on the “rebels” – the Rapid Support Forces – to guarantee unhindered aid distribution.
