Sudan’s RSF kills at least 40 villagers in Gezira State

Khartoum: Altaghyeer
At least 40 civilians were killed on Sunday when the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) attacked Goaz Annaga village in centeral Sudan’s Gezira State, a popular committee said.
Abu Goota Resistance Committees said in a statement that some of the bodies were still in the open because the RSF prevented the residents, who fled the village, to return and provide descent burial for the dead.
The Committees called on civil society organisations to pressure the RSF into allowing burial of those killed.
RSF forces are blamed for the massacres of villagers in the Gezira State which they controlled since December 2023.
The Sudanese civilians are bearing the brunt of the war which erupted between the RSF and the Sudanese Armed Forces in April 2023. The war killed nearly 16,650 civilians and displaced millions.
