Kassala: Altaghyeer
Cholera cases in Sudan are increasing where nearly 10,000 have been reported including over 300 deaths.
The epidemic outbreak was declared in the country in 12 August with 8 out of 18 states affected.
Federal health authorities said on Monday 266 new cases, including 6
deaths, were reported bringing the total to 9533 cases.
The outbreak has been fueled this year by the floods besides the already deteriorated health situation created by fighting between the army and paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
Meanwhile, the federal Ministry of Health launched on Monday an immunisation campaign against cholera in Kassala and Wad Alhiloay localities of Kassala State, east Sudan.
The campaign, which targets more than 400,000 people, will continue up to 21 September.
