Khartoum: Altaghyeer

The Sudanese paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) said Egypt has been supplying the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) with military capabilities and facilitating provision of weapons, ammunition, aircrafts and drones across its borders.

The RSF added in a statement on Friday the “Egyptian government has never ceased securing military support to SAF including arms, ammunition and bombs besides technical, political, diplomatic and media assistance”.

Egypt offered 8 (k-8)
aircrafts to the SAF last August and is also taking part in the current fighting including the recent Jebel Moya battle, the statement said.

The RSF revealed for the first time that it has captured Egyptians ‘mercenaries’ fighting alongside the Sudanese army in the ongoing war.

It said the Egyptians airforce has participated in killing hundreds of innocent civilians in Darfur, Khartoum and other places in Sudan and provided the SAF with American made 250 kgs-bombs that were used in blowing up houses, marketplaces and civil installations.

The paramilitary said it had withheld voicing its views publicly on many Egyptian activities against Sudan well before the ongoing war in consideration of the close relationship between the peoples of the two countries. But the Egyptian government failed to change its bias stance with the military institutions and regimes siding with the SAF which is in fact completely controlled by the Islamic Movement in Sudan, the statement added.

The RSF accused Egypt of backing the 2021 coup which derailed the transitional civil government; a step that encouraged the “Islamic Movement’s army” to wage the current war later.

“We have warned Egypt more than once to stop interfering in the Sudanese domestic affairs and to adopt an impartial attitude towards the political crisis in Sudan and parties to the conflict”.

The RSF said Egypt has been a main partner with the Islamic Movement and SAF in waging the war indicating that Egypt has assembled its aircrafts in Merowe, north Sudan, within the war plan and the RSF has captured there Egyptian officers and soldiers as prisoners of war and later on released them in an operation facilitated by the Red Cross.

The Egyptian airforce has participated in bombing the RSF’s camps since the beginning of the war including the massacre of 4,000 soldiers in Karari camp, north Omdurman, who had been preparing to leave to Saudi Arabia to take part in Yemen war, the RSF said.

The paramilitary furthermore accused Egypt of being a safe havens for the leaders of the Sudan’s Islamic Movement, security officers of the deposed regime and pro-war media.

The RSF further warned the Egyptian government and its agencies to refrain from this blatant interference in Sudanese domestic affairs through backing SAF which is dominated by the Islamic Movement.
