World Bank grants Sudan $435 million for funding vital projects
$150 million out of the total will be alloted for funding “the Sudanese society resilience” project which aims at supporting war-affected poor families.

The World Bank has granted Sudan grants valued 435 million dollars to fund vital projects in the fields of health, education and agricultural production, the Ministry of Finance said.
The grants include $150 million for funding “the Sudanese society resilience” project which aims at supporting war-affected poor families, the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) quoted the Ministry’s Undersecretary for Planning, Muhammad Bashar as saying on Sunday.
The health services will receive 83 million dollars and the project will be implemented in collaboration with UNICEF and WHO, the official said.
A sum of 42 million dollars is allocated for supporting education emergency project and will be implemented through UNICEF.
A grant of $100 million is under processing and will go to support response to crises and social protection. It will be implemented in collaboration with the World Food Programme and UNICEF.
Some 80 million dollars will be granted later to promote the “Sudanese people resilience” project after stabilisation of security situation in the country, Bashar said.
