At least 31 civilians were killed in Wad Madani, capital of the central Sudan’s al-Gezira State, when the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) launched aerial shelling on the city amid recent escalation of its fighting with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the area, activists said.
Wad Madani’s Resistance Committees said the casualties occurred when SAF war planes dropped barrel bombs on al-Shiekh al-Jeili Mosque and its surroundings on Sunday night.
