ADB approves $100 million-grant for wheat production in Sudan
The grant was approved within the Bank’s assistance for 37 low income African countries, the Ministry of Finance said.

The African Development Bank (ADB) Group has approved a grant of approximately 100 million dollars to fund the second phase of wheat production project in Sudan which aimed at boosting food security in the country, the Ministry of Finance said.
The war-stricken Sudan is gripped by a crippling economic crisis amid high rates of inflation, price hikes and a looming famine.
The grant was approved within the Bank’s assistance for 37 low income African countries, the Ministry’s Undersecretary for Planning, Mohamed Bashar, said in a press statement on Tuesday.
Bashar said, according to the Sudan News Agency, the project will be implemented in 2025 by the World Food Programme (WFP).
