Sudan’s status quo government has filed a complaint with the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights of the African Union against Chad over N’Djamena’s support for the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The complaint, which was submitted on Friday, contains conclusive evidence proving Chad’s involvement in supporting the “rebel RSF militia in it’s committed violations and crimes including genocide, crimes of war and crimes against humanity”, according to the Official Spokesman Platform.

The crimes also includes killing, rape, sexual violence, forced displacement, destruction of infrastructure, children recruitment, looting of private and public properties and occupation of citizens homes, the complaint said.

“The Chadian support to the militia has played a crucial role in helping the RSF commit these crimes and prolonging the war”, the complaint said.

Last March, Sudan filed a similar complaint against Chad and the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations’ Security Council accusing them of supplying the RSF with weapons in the 18 months-long war.
