More than 1,237 killed in Sudan’s RSF attacks on al-Gezira
At least 1,237 killed in attacks by the Rapid Support Forces in east and north al-Gezira State within three weeks, civil organisation says.

At least 1, 237 civilians have been killed in attacks by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on villages in east and north al-Gezira State, centeral Sudan, since 20 October, said the al-Gezira Congress.
According to the Congress 77 villages have been subjected to the attacks. It further provided a detailed inventory of all the 1,237 victims including 359 who were killed in al-Hilalia town, 300 in Tumbool town, 140 in al-Seraiha village, 57 in al-Ougda village, 28 in Rufaa town, 27 in Wad al-Sayed village, 25 in Muknoon village, 21 in al-Azaiba village, 16 in Id al-Gabash village and 16 in Safita.
The RSF forced residents in at least 400 out of 515 villages in east al-Gezira out of their homes and kept the other villages under siege, the Congress said.
The RSF has launched revenge campaigns on al-Gezira villages after its top leader in the State, Abu Aagla Kaikl, defected to join the Sudanese Armed Forces in its war with the RSF which erupted in April 2023.
