At least five killed in Sudan’s RSF mosque shelling

Five people have been killed instantely in the attack, the imam of the mosque lost a leg and a number of children were seriously injured.

At least five civilians were killed in a paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) artillery shelling of a mosque in the northern rural area of Omdurman, west of the capital Khartoum, said Sudanese authorities on Monday.

Khartoum State government said in a statement that “the RSF attacked worshipers in al-Rashad mosque in the northern rural part of Omdurman during al-Magrib Prayer in Sunday evening.”

Artillery shelling between the RSF and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) has recently increased in Omdurman, one of the three cities composing the Sudanese national capital besides Khartoum and Bahri, which is mostly under SAF control.
