Khartoum: Altaghyeer

The Joint Force of Darfur Armed Struggle Movements said it has carried out a daredevil operation in the  Sudanese-Libyan-Chadian borders triangle siezing huge military supplies and logistics destined for the paramilitary the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The Joint Force said in a statement on Friday that it captured 7 armourd vehicles, 25 new 4X4 trucks and huge quantities of ammunition and heavy arms including anti-shield Kornet missiles.

There are documents and evidence, including Colombian passports and visas stamps, showing that the equipment has come via Al Maktoum international airport in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the statement said.

The Joint Force said sending these weapons to Sudan, particularly to Darfur region, is a flagrant violation of the UN Security Council’s resolutions No 1591 and 2736 which ban exporting weapons to Darfur. The evidence and findings of investigation will be submitted to the concerned Sudanese authorities to handle  this dangerous development, the Force added.

The UAE is accused of supporting the RSF in the war against the Sudanese Armed Forces, which started in April 2023, providing it with military supplies via Omgaras airport in Chad.
